AMREEN & FAISAL WEDDING- PART 3 (THE VALIMA)

The Crowne Plaza Dubai - was the venue for the Valima, a close family affair and the last event of the wedding.

The couple wowed in their designer outfits and exuded glamour.

Tables were swathed in silver and white featuring snowy and blush florals that spilled out of ornate bird cages. Hurricane glasses housed flickering candles and a backdrop filled with candles and blush hydrangeas gave the evening a touch of simple and classic elegance.

Personalized touches were integrated into the wedding reception. Rather than having a traditional guest book each attendee was asked to put their thumb print on a wedding tree. Later that evening, the colorful tree filled with leaf looking thumb prints was framed and gifted to the couple.

It was the music that stole the hearts of the guests this evening. The entire family entered re enacting their own first dance and first song of 30 years ago and received a standing ovation from the guests. Amreen’s parents made a grand entry and waltzed on their song that her dad had wooed her mom with. It was a truly emotional moment for the family. The highlight of the wedding evening was a Salsa performance by the couple. Amreen and Faisal performed to Christina Perri’s “a thousand years” A well choreographed flawless performance which the couple had been secretly rehearsing for the past month.

A sentimental wedding video montage ended the perfect night that was an expression of affection and style.

The Wedding was planned by Rimjhim Bhagchandani of Rimjhim Events who does wow weddings across the globe.

Destination Wedding Dubai |Wedding Dubai | Indian Wedding Dubai |Wedding Planner Dubai – Rajani family share their Wedding Planning Experiences

Destination Wedding Dubai |Wedding Dubai | Indian Wedding Dubai |Wedding Planner Dubai – Rajani family share their Wedding Planning Experiences

When Nanik Rajani, a Dubai based businessman was planning his younger daughter Sonia’s wedding to Dubai Jeweller Nitin, the time frame to plan it was less than two months. Having planned his elder daughter Sapna’s wedding in Pune two years ago, he and his family all in Dubai, were confident that they could manage to co-ordinate the younger daughter’s wedding in India too. A few days later, his daughter bride-to-be Sonia while researching online visited the website of Dubai Wedding Planner Rimjhim Bhagchandani. Sonia convinced her father that they should meet Rimjhim. Explains Rimjhim: “I have planned many weddings in Dubai and Thailand, but only one wedding in India. So I was unsure if I’d be interested in managing a wedding in Pune, a city I have never visited earlier. But in the last one year, many clients have been approaching me to manage their son or daughter’s wedding in India, so I thought why not take up the challenge.” Adds Rimjhim: “I had to make two trips to Pune, to meet with the venues, caterer, decorators and the team which would take care of the ground level hospitality– in the end it was all a great experience. Every wedding is different, and so is the process of organising it in different countries. This is the second wedding I managed in India, the earlier one in Amritsar and just like I felt that there was magic in the air in Amritsar, Pune too holds a special place in my heart.”

We met Mr Rajani at his apartment in Dubai and like every parent who are eager to talk about the wedding planning experience, he too was happy to share. “I wouldn’t call wedding planning stressful. As the bride/ groom or the parent of the bride/ groom you alone can control how stress-free you wish to remain, or how you want to sweat the small stuff and end up being stressed always. Even the decision to hire a Wedding Planner is personal. For many years, families have managed big celebrations without Wedding Planners, and now an increasing number of NRIs like us, are seeking the services of a Wedding Planner. In my opinion the big mistake many families make is to hire a Wedding Planner and then control everything themselves- this defeats the purpose. Being a creative entrepreneur myself, I realised a Wedding Planner can work effectively only if given all the freedom, you have to trust them and their decisions, else don’t hire one, go ahead and do it your way.”

Sonia says: “In a way I’m glad the planning period was short– everything went as per our plans. The only stress I had was with clothes. I met a Mumbai based designer who promised to deliver everything as per the desired dates, we gave an advance too, but he didn’t turn up for the second meeting. Fortunately I spoke to a friend who told me about a bad experience she had with the same designer, he didn’t deliver the clothes as per schedule, and after the delivery there were some alterations required, which couldn’t get done, so the outfit was literally a waste. I decided not to risk it and get my outfits from Sanskriti, the newly opened boutique in Bur Dubai. They may not have a great offering or choice like some well-known designer boutiques in Mumbai and Delhi but they deliver what they have to, as per the specifications on schedule. I had to worry about getting a good Makeup Artist too, since the best names were all booked, I was lucky to find Kumar Iyer who gave me the look I wanted for all the functions.”

Who else would the father of the bride like to recommend for those planning a Destination Wedding in Pune. “Soul Kitch for catering, we visited them just once to try their cuisine, and felt they were flawless- quality of food, variety and presentation. Hotel Sun n Sand for their excellent hospitality, the Marriott for their beautiful location and super service. Event Dynamics did a great job with the set-ups, flowers and the mandap. And not to forget DJ Manoj and singer Shobana from Dubai who rocked the parties.”

Rimjhim has done various high ended weddings and destination weddings accross the globe.

Wedding Planner Dubai | Wedding Dubai | Weddings Dubai | Destination Wedding Dubai ~Giving a flair to high-profile marriage ceremonies

The best part of it all is that a lavish wedding do is virtually immune to economic cycles, Bhagchandani believes.

Dubai: Why would anyone want to step out of the arc lights that come with being a celebrity events planner? Let’s just look at two of the perks that come with being one — a chance to micro-manage high-profile events and constant and personal interactions with celebrities.

But Rimjhim Bhagchandani preferred to walk away from it all. “When I started, we lived in simpler times,” she said. “At that stage, live shows in Dubai were truly appreciated [and] the number of artists, sponsors, venues and media avenues were limited.

“Today, Bollywood-related shows far exceed the popularity of classical music events. Also, while the fees for artists have shot up, sponsorship fees have not increased proportionately. Recovering the investment on a live show has thus become more challenging.”

It is an existentialist crisis that stalks many an entrepreneur. Once a business reaches a certain scale and finds it difficult to make the next transition, declining returns could then set in and even turn out to be fatal to the business’s longer-term prospects.

The solution, as far as Bhagchandani was concerned, was to tune into a new career trajectory — that of being a wedding planner. She disagrees —politely — with the suggestion that switching business profiles must have been difficult.

Organised flow

“Personally I don’t see working with weddings to be a transition since the same principle of creating unique events applies strongly,” said Bhagchandani, who holds the working title of director at Rimjhim Events. “Today’s weddings involve bringing together a broad range of ideas that require the assistance of a wedding planner to maintain an organised flow of events.

“The market for wedding planners here is very encouraging [and] the rate card depends on the scope of work provided by the client.”

Bhagchandani certainly has struck a chord there. Weddings are getting more complex and planning them requires as many management skills as a business school can teach you and then some they don’t. The role of wedding planners too has received a high gloss with both Hollywood and Bollywood churning out movies based on that theme.

In a case of life imitating art, planning glitzy weddings are packing in the kind of budgets that a small-scale movie producer would be proud of. “We handled engagements of Dh4 million to Dh6 million plus where we have hosted a minimum of 400 guests.

“Clients don’t mind spending money as long as they feel the expenses are justified. No one wants to compromise on a once in a lifetime wedding.

“For every event — depending on the destination and the client’s requirement — we bring together a specialised team. It’s extremely important to keep up to date with the latest innovations in the industry and I make it a point for us to attend workshops and seminars.

“It is not about the number of people on a payroll, but bringing together talented team members who share a vision.”

Apart from the local market, Rimjhim Events — which charges $20,000 on average to manage a destination wedding — is extending its reach into India and the Far East.

The best part of it all is that a lavish wedding do is virtually immune to economic cycles. “The way I see it, the market for destination weddings is growing every year,” said Bhagchandani.

“I don’t believe that the global slowdown has significantly impacted the industry. Budgets do vary from client to client, but seldom do they vary based on where we are in the economic cycle.

“But we have to work harder to create value in the minds of the clients during recessionary periods.”

Moreover, there is no such thing as an off-season. “Weddings happen throughout the year and across all our destinations. Rimjhim is a wedding planner who does weddings all accross the globe.  I do not recall ever having an off-peak season.”

AMREEN & FAISAL WEDDING- PART 2 (THE NIKAAH)

Happily ever after starts here……

What could be a more befitting signage for Amreen & Faisal’s Wedding ( The Nikaah)

The venue was the impressive Safinah ballroom of the gorgeous Jumeirah Beach Hotel. A beautiful evening that truly reflected the meaning of marriage, family values, love and commitment.

The foyer was illuminated with hundreds of twinkling white candles that surrounded a huge floral centerpiece giving a warm welcoming feel to the guests who walked in. The first part of the evening was the Nikaah which was solemnized by the Qazi. Trays of dates and Rooh Afza were passed around as mark of the completion of the nuptials.

A radiant Amreen looked like a true princess sheathed in a traditional lehnga choli. Her ensemble accessorized by stunning diamond and precious gem stones jewellery. Faisal on the other hand looked equally regal in his designer Sherwani.

Post the nuptials the festivities began in full force with a spectacular LED show followed by Bollywood dancers who created the right mood for the DJ to take over the evening.

The ballroom was bathed in a pink hue (Amreen’s favorite color) Clusters of paper flowers served as the illustrious backdrop complimented by clear towering vases featuring vanilla orchids and splash of hot pink roses. Lounges were accentuated with shimmering pink cushions. The hot pink pure silk overlays and chair sleeves with glowing candle light on the tables and a customized monogram gobo floating across the room completed the look.

The towering wedding cake prepared by the master chef of Jumeirah Beach Hotel was cut amidst bubbles and haze effects giving the special moment an ethereal effect. The Wedding Planner for the event was Rimjhim Events who does weddings and destination weddings accross the globe.
